The Mitchell Scholarship is an opportunity for future leaders of America to complete a one-year postgraduate degree in Ireland or Northern Ireland, with up to 12 recipients chosen each year from the United States.
The Mitchell Scholarship has been suspended until further notice.
Funding
Eligibility
- Applicants must have a bachelor's degree before beginning study as a Mitchell Scholar
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old but not yet 30 years old by the date of the application deadline
Citizenship
- Only U.S. citizens may apply

- Applicants need only apply for the scholarship (not to a particular university)

BYU application deadline
- The application opens in April
- To apply, students must meet BYU’s initial internal deadline of August 1st
- Candidates must be endorsed by BYU to apply for this award

- The foundation deadline is in late September
