Knight-Hennessy Scholarship

The Knight-Hennessy Scholarship is for postgraduate students in any discipline who would like to pursue further education at Stanford University, with up to 100 scholarship recipients chosen each year from around the world.

Funding

  • Tuition, living stipend, and academic expenses for the duration of a 1, 2, or 3-year graduate program (other funding may be available for longer programs)
  • Yearly flights to and from Stanford

Eligibility

  • Applicants must apply to and be accepted by their Stanford graduate program in order to receive the award
  • Applicants must apply within 6 years of receiving their undergraduate degree

Citizenship

  • Both U.S. and international students may apply

Additional requirements

  • No additional requirements

Criteria

  • Independence of thought
  • Purposeful leadership
  • Civic mindset

GPA

  • There is no GPA requirement as long as applicants are accepted into their graduate program at Stanford
  • The average is 3.95

BYU application deadline

  • The application opens in May
  • No BYU endorsement is required to apply

Scholarship deadline

  • The foundation deadline is in early October
