Truman Scholarship

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program funds approximately 1800 awards each year for students and individuals to conduct research, pursue graduate studies, or teach English abroad.

  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens
  • Applicants must have completed their first undergraduate degree by the grant start date
  • Students must not have completed a Ph.D.

  • Those applying for a Fulbright study award must also apply to their chosen graduate program
  • Those applying for a Fulbright research grant must acquire a letter of affiliation from their host country

  • There is no minimum GPA for the Fulbright Program
  • If you are pursuing a graduate degree award, you must be eligible for acceptance to the graduate school to which you are applying

  • The application opens in April
  • BYU internal deadlines begin at the end of August
  • Applicants will be interviewed by an on-campus committee
