Gates Scholarship

The Gates Cambridge Scholarship is an international postgraduate award for students to study at the University of Cambridge, with approximately 25 US Recipients selected each year.

Funding

  • A living allowance for a single adult student for the duration of their program; for Ph.D. scholars, the award is for up to 4 years.
  • Flights to and from U.K. at both the beginning and end of course
  • Inbound visa costs and Immigration Health Surcharge

Eligibility

  • Citizens from any country outside of the U.K. may apply
  • Applicants must apply for one of the following to be considered:
    • Ph.D. (full time or part time)
    • M.Litt. (full time)
    • One-year, full-time postgraduate course (See here for exceptions)
  • There is no age requirement to apply

  • Any required GPA is determined by individual graduate programs at Cambridge
  • The average is 3.7-4.0

  • There is no BYU internal deadline
  • No BYU endorsement required to apply
